Territory artists to shine on stage at BASSINTHEGRASS 2022

It’s the news Territory musos have been waiting for – the highly-anticipated Territory Artists Competition is back for BASSINTHEGRASS 2022.

Held at Darwin’s iconic Mindil Beach, BASSINTHEGRASS will feature two NT acts who will each play a 20-minute set during the festival on one of the main stages on Saturday, 21 May.

Each year, event organisers receive large numbers of applications from local acts vying for the chance to play alongside some of Australia’s most accomplished artists.

To enter, Territory acts need to submit an application online including a bio, link to Spotify, YouTube or Soundcloud content, and a video of a live performance of at least two songs.

Applicants will be judged by a panel of industry experts including representation from Music NT, LACT Entertainment and NT Major Events Company.

Judges will be assessing applicants based on their quality, genre, capability, development, experience and ability to perform a 20-minute set.

Music NT Judge Shauna Upton said the competition provides an invaluable opportunity for artists to showcase their music to a huge crowd, engage with a large interstate audience and meet a number of other established artists.

“MusicNT is excited to be involved in the selection of two acts and cannot wait to see them take to the stage,” she said.

Applications close on Tuesday, 19 April and winners will be announced on Sunday, 24 April. For more information visit www.bassinthegrass.com.au/about/territory-artist-applications/.
