Stadium Super Trucks Make Darwin Debut 07 June 2016 7 June 2015 The brainchild of NASCAR legend and Dakar star Robby Gordon, the spectacular Stadium Super Trucks, will make their Darwin debut at the CrownBet Darwin Triple Crown V8 Supercars on 17 – 19 June. The Stadium Super Trucks are capable of speeds upwards of 200km/h, produce over 600 horsepower, and are designed to take ‘flight’ as they race over specially made ramps. “It will be great to see the trucks race around Hidden Valley Raceway, launching some 5 or 6 metres in the air,” Chief Minister Adam Giles said. Behind the wheels of the three trucks will be Australia’s only winner of the Dakar Rally and 2016 Tatts Finke Desert Race winner, off-road motorcycle racer Toby Price, former V8 Supercars driver and Bathurst winner Paul Morris, and Tatts Finke Desert Race legend Brad Gallard. “We have seen the Stadium Super Trucks at other rounds in the V8 Supercars series, but to have them come to Darwin for the first time is really exciting”. The Stadium Super Trucks will perform demonstration events throughout the weekend, and will add further excitement to a great program of on and off-track entertainment. “We hope to see them as a regular spectacle at the CrownBet Darwin Triple Crown,” Mr Giles said. Tickets are currently on sale for three days of motorsport action at Ticketek, Australia Post and darwinv8s.com.au.
