Merlin Darwin Triple Crown program revs up

Motorsports fans of all ages will benefit from the latest additions to the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown program.

Organisers have confirmed a full day of practice rounds will start on Friday, 18 June 2021 at Hidden Valley Raceway.

Gates will open at 9.30am, with practice sessions for Supercars, Stadium Super Trucks and Australian Superbikes.

Another exciting addition to the program is the Improved Productions, HQ Holdens and Commodore Cup support categories.

They will race on Saturday and Sunday, and take part in Friday’s practice rounds.

Garry Dempsey, Secretary of the North Australian Motor Sport Club, said the teams are excited to be involved again this year.

“This will be the 23rd year in a row NAMSC has been invited to field all their local racing categories to support this great Supercars event,” he said.

“As always, our field will do as much as possible to provide plenty of action on the track from the Improved Production, HQ Holdens and Commodore Cup categories.

“The combination of these three categories on track together, with such a diverse variety of vehicles, means there is always something going on. We can’t wait for this event. Local cars, Supercars, Superbikes, Drag Cars, Stadium Trucks, live music all in the one location over three days will be unreal.”

The practice day is added value for three-day Hot Pass or Friday General Admission Nitro Up North ticket holders, who can use the ticket they already have to attend.

The excitement doesn’t end there, with Matt Mingay bringing his acclaimed Hotwheels Stuntz Team to Darwin.

In good news for young motorsports fans, the Students On Track program also returns this year.

This gives students the chance to go behind the scenes of Supercars on Friday, 18 June at Hidden Valley Raceway.

Students on Track is limited to 500 students, and applications are open now through the Teachers’ Portal at darwinsupercars.com.au/students-on-track-program

Teachers must register their students by Friday, 28 May 2021.
