Four More Years of Darwin Festival Support

In exciting news, the Darwin Festival has secured a new four-year funding agreement with the Northern Territory Government through Northern Territory Major Events Company.

After developing a 2021-2025 strategic plan to safeguard the future sustainability and growth of the event, festival organisers were thrilled to secure the new agreement.

Darwin Festival CEO James Gough said the four-year funding agreement gives the team stability to forge ahead with longer-term initiatives and programming outcomes.

“Darwin Festival thanks the Northern Territory Government for their continued support and commitment to this keystone event that has earned its place on the national events calendar, contributing strong visitor nights and economic benefit to the Territory while serving local audiences and artists alike,” he said.

Like many events, the iconic Top End festival has evolved over the past two years to ensure attendees continue to embrace the popular instalment on the NT’s events calendar.

In 2020, Darwin Festival adapted to COVID-19 restrictions and delivered a program bursting with Territory talent which was great news for the local entertainment industry. The festival played to its strengths again this year with Territory and national acts taking to the stage.

Plans are forging ahead for next year’s festival, with applications now open for Territory artists to be involved.

The 2022 Darwin Festival will take place from 4-21 August. To find out more visit www.darwinfestival.org.au.
