Be part of Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival

The much-loved Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival will return in May with an exciting new partnership and opportunities for artists to get involved.

Local construction company Sunbuild Seabreeze Apartments has backed the community festival – joining as naming rights sponsor.

Festival organisers are calling on artists, and community groups to submit their Expressions of Interest (EOI) participate in the popular event.

The three-day festival, which celebrates Darwin’s unique and thriving arts and culture scene, will take place from Friday, May 12 to Sunday, May 14 along two kilometres of the beautiful Nightcliff Foreshore.

Spanning three glorious days in May, and heralding the beginning of the dry season, Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival will showcase Territory talent across multiple stages along the stunning Nightcliff Foreshore overlooking the Timor Sea,” said Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival Logistics Manager Andrew Arthur.

“The festival will have something for everyone, so mark your diaries and come on down to the foreshore for a packed weekend of music, arts and culture.”

Run by Nightcliff Arts, Music and Culture Incorporated, the festival is supported by the Northern Territory Government through Northern Territory Major Events Company.

The free family-friendly festival, which began in 2005, will feature music, dance, visual arts and stalls from makers and community groups. Visitors will also be able to tuck into a meal as the sun sets, with an array of food vans and boutique bars set up at the festival. There will be a range of competitions, including Sand Sculpture and the Jetty Art Space competition.

With a sustainability focus, stalls are encouraged to go plastic free and visitors are encouraged to cycle or catch public transport.

EOIs for Territory artists, close on Friday, 31 March and applications for community stallholders, close on Sunday, 23 April. To find out more, or to apply to volunteer, head to www.nightcliffseabreeze.com
